A blog can do a lot of things to help build your Internet business. One important thing you should do is build your mailing list on your blog.

Are you doing that with yours? And if not to do you know how to go about building a mailing list with a blog?

One of the easiest things you can do is add a sign-up form to the sidebar of your blog template. Put it up at the top where people can find it.

A really good idea is to put your sign-up form where your reader does not even have to scroll down to find it. This will increase your number of subscribers right away.

By putting it in the blog template it will show up on every blog post you have made in the past. Of course it will also show up on every blog article you post in the future!

Another thing you can do is hyperlink keyword phrases in the body of the blog articles you write.

Rather than hyperlink those directly to affiliate products you sell try hyper linking them to pages people can join your mailing list.

You can create various splash pages and hyperlink to those as well. When you get in the habit of doing this it becomes natural to just automatically incorporate this into a blog article.

Starting a blog is just about the easiest thing to do on the Internet today. For that reason there is a new blog started somewhere in the world just about every second of the day.

Equally just as quick people stop working on their blogs for various reasons. One reason that happens to almost every blogger is it becomes hard to sit down and write blog articles all of the time.

I think this brings up a good question of how do you get yourself to write blog articles when you don’t feel like doing it?

1. Start a swipe file on blog article ideas.  Every time you come across something you think might make a good article throw it in your swipe file for future reference.

2.  When you are in the mood to write create several articles at once. You can put them into your blog and submit them at a later date, but you’ll always have content that way.

3. Create multiple categories in your blog so you never get bored on things to write about. If you come up with a great article idea, and don’t have a category for it, just create a new one.

4. Keep your pulse on what is going on in your niche. Join discussion forums that relate to the theme of your blog.

You will find plenty of blog article ideas you can write on based on what people are discussing in these forums.

As long as you enjoy the theme of your blog you will have more days when you feel like writing blog articles than when you don’t.

Having a home business should be a lot of fun.  For many of us it really is! How about you?

We are into the time of year where all of us take a look at our home based business goals. Have you done that yet?

You really should take a little time throughout the year and evaluate what your goals are with your business. If you are doing an Internet businesses this is especially important.

Things change so quickly online that you need to be able to adapt quickly as well. This can mean making changes to your goals depending on what your home based business needs are.

But as we sit here in January we do make New Year’s resolutions both for our personal and business life.  What are your home-based business goals?

I would suggest that you put a little bit of emphasis on building a mailing list. None of us can never have too large of a list and the more people we have to mail to the more potential income it can bring us.

The other suggestion I would make is that you look beyond your income goals and set specific daily goals that you can achieve.

Many people get hung up on long term goals and forget that you cannot eat an elephant in one bite. The same thing is true with your home based business.

You will achieve success by accomplishing a little bit one step at a time. The good news is I can confidently tell you anyone can achieve their goals if they consistently worked at them.
