There has been a debate going on for a while now about whether pay per click advertising or article marketing is a better way to promote your business.
If you are not sure I am going to do my best to give you a few reasons why I like article marketing better.
1. With article marketing you create backlinks to your business that can drive traffic for many years to come. These links are placed in your resource box and added to every article that you submit.
2. With PPC advertising the minute you stop promoting you no longer have traffic coming in. Therefore it is impossible to create a residual effect from your advertising because you must constantly be doing it to reap the benefits.
3. Article marketing allows you to be more topical with what's hot right now. You can write articles that people enjoy around something that interests them based on the current trend.
4. Article marketing allows you to brand your self as well as enhance your credibility. This is especially true if you write your own articles and develop your own style.
5. You can do article marketing without ever writing an article yourself if you choose. To do that, you just hire someone to write articles for you. There are ghost writers who will write content articles for you at a very reasonable price.
This is a few reasons why we think article marketing is better than PPC advertising. You may want to try them both and make up your own mind.

If you are not aware of what Twitter is go to Twitter.com and learn a little bit more about it. It's easy to set up your own account and is something you should do right now.
Twitter is a form of micro blogging and there are several ways you can benefit from it.
1. You can increase the number of people following you which allows you to communicate directly with them. You do this by posting updates about your business, about your life, or really anything you want to talk about.
The larger the number of followers you have the more potential people you can influence through the updates you post.
2. You can follow people by joining their followers list. This is an excellent way to be up to date on things going on within a particular area of interest you both have. It is also an excellent way to start a joint venture, or join a program with people you are following.
3. Your updates can drive traffic to a blog post that you make. You are allowed to take your blog post URL and shortened it at TinyURL.com.
You then make a short update and post in your new Tiny URL. This is a live link and your followers can click on it to find out more information about the blog post you just made.
There are many more ways you can benefit from Twitter, but you can't do it unless you are a member yourself. It's free to join and I encourage you to go over and do that right now.

Google owns YouTube and the word on the street is blogs that do not incorporate video into their content will lose their rankings in 2009. Is this something you are willing to risk?
It doesn't have to be because YouTube literally has thousands of videos available for you to add to any blog post you want. As a matter of fact it's so easy to do that anyone that knows how to copy and paste can quickly liven their blog up with the few videos.
All you have to do is go to YouTube.com and type in a search for the keyword that relates to the blog post you are making. You will find multiple videos available for you to view.
Your goal is to simply find one that relates to the theme of the blog post you have just written. Then copy the embed code that you see on the right hand sidebar and paste it into the blog post over on your site.
Save it and then view the post to make sure everything is lining up okay and that you have adequate spacing above and below the video itself. Click on the play button and watch it to make sure that it's playing okay as well.
There are other things you can do to embed your affiliate links into the videos themselves, but we will get into those at a later date. Right now all we are talking about is getting some videos on your blog to jazz it up a little bit and help increase the amount of money you make and RSS subscribers you get.

Running a quality blog does you no good if people do not know where to find it. One of the best ways to get traffic for your blog is to social bookmark your blog articles. Here is a quick way you can do that!
There is a free service called Onlywire.com where you can join over 20 social directories and have your post bookmarked directly to them with one click. It will take you a few minutes to join the various directories, but this is the hardest thing you will do.
Before you do that you will need to set up an account with Onlywire.com so you can be approved to add a small banner of theirs to your blog. Then when you make a blog article you can bookmark the specific post directly to all of the directories you've joined with one click.
All you will need to do is to add your tag keywords, and a short comment which generally is the first two sentences or so of the blog article.
Now why exactly would you want to social bookmark a blog post? There are two primary reasons for this.
1. The directories you bookmark to will now contain a link back to your blog. This can lead to potential traffic for it.
2. Search engines will spider the social directories more often than they spider your blog. So you can use your blog articles as search engine bait to potentially rank high for the keywords the article is written around.
